Mannes Prep Online Courses are designed for national and international pre-professional music students who are planning on applying to music schools for college. Students are eligible if they live outside a commutable distance to New York City and are
entering Grades 8-12 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Curriculum Overview
Each course meets for 14 contact hours per semester and is held synchronously on Zoom. Courses are taught in English.
Each semester includes two techniques of music courses and a performance-oriented course. Music theory and ear training courses
are intensive courses, and prepare students for the AP Music Theory Exam over the course of four semesters. The project-based performance courses (performance skills, college auditions and arts supplements, recital preparation) involve deep student
participation throughout the semester and culminate in final performance products.

Students enrolled in Fall 2026 online courses will be offered the opportunity to audition for two Fall virtual masterclass opportunities with Mannes College Faculty Members.

Year 1 final performance product/project: 2 full works performed from memory and recorded, will receive graded faculty feedback. Students who have completed year I of all coursework and are High School Juniors or Seniors are eligible for a pre-screening
waiver for Mannes School of Music.

Recital Preparation (choosing a program, researching/preparing program notes, performance preparations)
