  • Our International Affairs students take full advantage of New York City's incomparable resources in the field. The city's extraordinary range of international NGOs, intergovernmental institutions, and global companies — from the United Nations to Human Rights Watch to major media organizations — provides unique opportunities for student research, internships, and practicums. Our practice-based coursework connects students with these organizations through projects that launch student careers, and faculty members working in these organizations provide students with opportunities to address the most pressing issues in the field.

  • Our diverse, international faculty includes experts with strong connections to the United Nations system, governmental and non-governmental organizations across the globe, and the media. Through small classes, one-on-one advising, and special networking events, faculty serve as formal and informal advisors. Many faculty select research and teaching assistants from among our student body, providing further opportunities for students to engage in high-level research and teaching.

  • At our public programs, thought leaders come together to debate major issues of the day. We offer dozens of public programs each year featuring international leaders in politics, policy, and human rights. Recent events have featured such luminaries as Ambassador Maria Fernanda Espinosa, President of the United Nations General Assembly; New York Times journalist C.J. Chivers; and Russian pro-democracy campaigner Vladamir Kara-Murza, among others, through ongoing partnerships with the Open Society Foundations, PEN America, and more.
