Creating Newsletter Content from Events Already Published in Splash
To help you more easily create email newsletters, M&C has created the Newsletter Content Generator, which generates HTML code for Splash events that can be added to your email marketing
platforms (see an example of how it displays in the Public Programs Newsletter). Instructions for using this tool can be found in How-To: Newsletter Content Generator.
Promoting an Event in the Public Programs Newsletter to External Audiences
The Public Programs team sends out a monthly newsletter (except in January and the summer months) to an external list of approximately 30,000 individuals. In order for your event to be considered for inclusion, it must be in Splash at least five business
days before the end of the month preceding the month in which the event is scheduled. A version of the monthly Public Programs Newsletter is sent to the internal community at the same time; it sometimes includes events that are open only to the internal
community.
Displaying an Event on Banners, Lobby Monitors, and Digital Easels
A variety of in-person promotional material and platforms are available, including stand-up or podium banners,
lobby monitors, and digital easels.
Listing a Student-Focused Event on NarwhalNation
NarwhalNation, developed and maintained by the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI), is a place for students to find out about upcoming events, clubs and organizations, club sports, intramural sports, recreation classes, and more.
Contact SLI to learn how to set up your department or college as an organization in NarwhalNation in order to post events. Note that NarwhalNation and Splash are not linked, so events must be cross-posted where
necessary.
