Exchange and Overseas Study Programs

The exchange programs at The New School for Social Research enable students from partner institutions to study at The New School for Social Research for one year, and students from The New School for Social Research
to study overseas for one or two semesters or for summer language study. The New School for Social Research currently has exchange programs with the following universities:
L'École des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris, France (all departments)
Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany (all departments)
Frankfurt University, Frankfurt, Germany (Economics, Philosophy, Politics)
Bremen University, Bremen, Germany (summer German language course, all departments)
Technical University of Dresden, Dresden, Germany (all departments)
Scholarships are available for these programs.
Advanced doctoral students with demonstrated teaching experience may from time to time be invited to teach at one of the exchange universities while conducting dissertation research.
In addition, students from The New School for Social Research frequently travel overseas for summer language programs and field research and during the year for research and study at other universities. Students from The New School for Social Research
are eligible to apply to the summer Democracy and Diversity Graduate institute in Wrocław, Poland, coordinated by the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies.
