Recent Updates: We're excited to begin the new academic year. More information about our health safety policies can be found on our COVID-19 Community Guide.

  • The University Learning Center (ULC) is dedicated to providing academic support to The New School’s diverse student population through one-on-one tutoring sessions, workshops, and more. Our primary goal is to help students become stronger and more independent learners, so that they may be successful in achieving their academic goals.

Individual tutoring sessions are offered in the following areas: general and graduate-level writing, computer programming and software, math and economics, ESL services, oral presentations, time management and ADHD coaching.

Most of our tutoring appointments take place online, but in-person sessions are also available. Students book their own online appointments using our scheduling platform, WCONLINE. Here is a step-by-step guide for booking a session. For in-person sessions, please email us at [email protected], stating the subject you would like help with and multiple times when you can meet. Once confirmed, in-person sessions take place at 66 West 12th Street on the 6th floor.

For tips for approaching the semester, we've put together a learning strategies guide to help you make the most of your courses. We also offer videos with tips for preparing for your online classestime management, being engaged and staying connected, and learning to learn.

We are available to answer any questions you have and look forward to working with you and helping you in any way that we can!
