• The Community College Liberal Arts Pathway (CCLAP)  guarantees admission to eligible students who wish to begin their studies at a community college prior to enrolling at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts or the Bachelor’s Program for Adults and Transfer Students

    How It Works

    1. Apply for admission to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program.
    2. Once admitted to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program, an interested student connects with an admission counselor to determine eligibility.
    3. If eligible, an admission counselor supports the student as they commit to CCLAP and begin paving the pathway to the community college of their choice, and ultimately The New School.
    4. While in community college, CCLAP students have individualized support from a New School admission counselor to plan their community college coursework.

    Program Benefits

    • Guaranteed transfer admission with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from a regionally accredited community college.
    • Individualized support from a New School admission counselor throughout enrollment at community college.
    • Save money toward your bachelor’s degree by completing community college credits — or an entire associate’s degree — before enrolling in your bachelor’s degree at The New School.
    • If awarded a merit scholarship upon initial offer of admission to The New School, it will be honored and guaranteed if a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is achieved at a community college.
    • Pre-approval of transfer credit eligibility.
    • Simplified transfer application process for future enrollment, including waived application fee.

    Eligibility

    • Admitted to Lang or the Adult Bachelor’s Program at The New School
    • Admitted as a first-year or transfer student and has not exceeded or is not close to exceeding the transfer credit maximum for the respective program.
