Visiting Students

Students currently enrolled at one of our exchange partner institutions are welcome to apply for a semester of study at Parsons. Students at exchange partner institutions who are interested in applying for a semester of study at Parsons should meet with the international or exchange office at their home institution regarding the nomination process and eligibility. Exchange students continue to pay tuition to their home institution while visiting at Parsons.

Deadlines

To study at Parsons in the fall semester (late August to mid-December): First Friday in March

To study at Parsons in the spring semester (late January to mid-May): First Friday in October

Every semester, Parsons admits a small number of visiting students from unaffiliated colleges and universities. These visiting students pay tuition to Parsons and are not eligible for financial aid or scholarships.

Housing

The New School offers a variety of student housing options, but we do not guarantee university housing for all students. Visiting and exchange students are welcome to apply for housing as soon as they are admitted to Parsons.

Student Visas

International students must obtain a student visa before they enter the United States. If you are an international student, your letter of acceptance will include a link provided by The New School's International Student and Scholar Services office that will enable you to begin the process of applying for a visa.

Health Insurance

All students enrolled at The New School must have health insurance. They are automatically charged the university's Student Health Insurance Plan premium when they register for courses.

Students can waive the university's Student Health Insurance Plan by providing proof of alternative personal coverage.

All students, including those who waive the Student Health Insurance Plan, are required to pay the Student Health Services Fee, which gives access to the on-campus clinic and 24-hour health emergency hotline.
