• Derrick S. Gaitér

  • Derrick S. Gaitér arrived at Parsons following studies at Howard University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Latin, and Political Science.

    Advising

His passion for many disciplines enabled him to bridge the History of Design and Curatorial Studies program and the Fashion Studies program for a tailored graduate experience on the state of global fashion media in general and the historical development of Vogue magazine in particular. David Brody and MarilynCohen were his academic advisors over the two-year program. He also served as a contributing editorial board member on the second issue of Objective in 2016.

Currently, Gaitér works at Parkwood Entertainment overseeing digital design strategy of web and social content for Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. His post-graduate career plan is to direct a premier portfolio of media products across American culture, the arts, and fashion categories. A Florida native, Gaitér now resides in the downtown Manhattan area.
