• Acting Projects

Our MFA actors are involved in a variety of projects highlighting their acting and collaborative skills, from mainstage productions with professional production teams in the second and third years to original compositions created in courses and led by faculty.

    Directing Projects

In their third year, each of the MFA directors will helm a productionof a full-length play performed in a repertory setting for the New Visions Festival. These productions highlight the talents of our graduating directors and actors and provide an introduction to each director’s work and aesthetic.

In their second year, each of the MFA directors works with their cohort of actors on Shakespeare Adaptations, which begin in the classroom and are produced by our production department.

    Writer's Projects

Previously each of our third-year playwrights wrote a full-length play to be produced in the New Voices Festival, using MFA third-year actors and helmed by an MFA third-year director. This project has transitioned into the 29 Hour Workshop Reading Series to allow for further creative development of each play and playwright, as well as the opportunity to work with a professional cast, director, and AEA guidelines.
