COVID-19 Update
For the safety of our community and to comply with social distancing guidelines, the Recreation department will not be offering sports, on-campus fitness classes, access to gyms, or outdoor adventures during the 2020-2021 academic year. Students can check NarwhalNation and the SLI Instagram page for information about Workout Wednesdays and virtual fitness classes taking place during Orientation and the spring 2021 semester.
Fitness classes are usually held in the University Center's fitness studio, in room L205. Take the service elevator to floor L2 or go down one level on the main staircase and then take the A1 staircase.
The capacity of classes differs depending on class type, but the maximum is usually 14-18 people.
Every class participant must complete a fitness waiver every semester and have current health insurance. A complete waiver includes insurance carrier and policy
number as well as an emergency contact, who must be someone in the United States with a U.S. phone number.
See Fitness Classes for class descriptions and Instructors for bios. No sign-ups are necessary; all classes are first come, first served. Spring classes have started
and will continue until May 8.
Students: Free
Faculty and staff: $5/class pass or $45/unlimited summer pass. Both can be purchased online. There are no physical passes; just bring your receipt as proof of payment.
