Each residence hall on campus is equipped with a team of staff members who play crucial roles in fostering a positive and supportive living environment for students, including building community, hosting residence hall activities, enforcing policies, and serving as a resource for residents.
Resident Assistants (RAs)
Current New School students who establish a sense of community on their floor, serve as leaders and peer advisors, and promote a safe learning, living, and growing environment.
Community Assistants (CAs)
Staff members who assist with the everyday operations of Residence Life, including student data entry and working with staff and students on a regular basis.
Graduate Resident Advisors (GRAs)
Staff members members within the residence halls who share in the comprehensive development and management of the HRE program and support the mission of The New School. They assist with overseeing a residential community.
Resident Directors (RDs)
Professional staff members who assist in planning, organizing, directing, and maintaining the daily functions of residential housing, including the supervision of student staff in the residence halls.
Associate/Assistant Director
Professional staff members who assist in planning, organizing, directing, and maintaining the daily functions of residential housing, including room selection and the supervision of professional staff members in the residence halls.
