At The New School, climate action is interdisciplinary and participatory. Our mission is to empower our community to commit to care for the planet and all of its inhabitants to create a more sustainable and just future on our campus and beyond.
We recognize that sustainability cannot be achieved without environmental and climate justice and hold equity at the forefront of our environmental action.
Our Role in a More Sustainable, Just Future
The health of our planet is a matter of justice. The New School believes everyone has a right to a more sustainable planet and is committed to advancing equity through our commitment and actions geared towards advancing outcomes that create just and sustainable
communities. Through our teaching and research, actions, and approach, we are trying our hardest to design a better place for all of us to live. As a community, each of us plays a part in helping our institution and the planet thrive. This work lives
at the core of what The New School stands for: to meet the issues of the moment, no matter the challenge, to create a more just and beautiful world for all.
Our mission is to act intentionally to make sustainable and just change. Our actions are rooted in environmental justice and climate justice principles.
